The Testimony of the Qur’an About the Holy Bible

Today we hear many voices say that the Bible has undergone many changes with regard to its early
manuscripts and their translated versions, but in reality the Qur’an does not support such accusations,
“And if thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been
reading the book from before thee…” (Yunus 10: 94), how come the Qur’an is asking the Muslims to “ask
those who have been reading the book from before thee” IF the Book “the Holy Bible” has been
changed?
Several verses in the Qur’an bear witness to the Holy Bible (Tawrat, Zabour, and Injil) having never been
changed. Here are some examples:
“Let the People of the Gospel judge by what Allah hath revealed therein. If any do fail to judge by (the
light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel” (Al-Maidah 5: 47).
This verse is written in the “present” tense, which in the Arabic language can also refer to the future! If
the Injil was corrupted at that time, then why would Allah ask the people of the Injil to believe in it?
• “If only they had stood fast by the Law, the Injil, and all the revelation that was sent to them
from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side. There is from among them
a party on the right course: But many of them follow a course that is evil” (Al-Maidah 5: 69).
Some of the People of the Injil were on the right course, this means these people are following an Injil
that was not changed, or they would never be described this way.
• “No change can there be in the Words of Allah. This is indeed the supreme Felicity.” (Yunus 10:
64).
The Holy Bible (The Tawrat, Zabour, and Injil) is the Holy Word of God. No one can doubt this fact. So
how and why would Allah let His Word to be changed? This verse makes it so clear that God’s Word
never changes, so the Holy Bible is unchanged and trustworthy. The Qur’an confirms the Holy Bible in
the following passages:
• “And believe (Muhammad) in that which I reveal, CONFIRMING that which ye possess already
(of the Scripture), and be not first to disbelieve therein, and part not with My revelations for a
trifling price, and keep your duty unto Me.” (Al-Baqara 2: 41).
• “He hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture with truth, CONFIRMING that which
was (revealed) before it, even as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel” (Al-Imran 3: 3).
• “And this is a blessed Scripture which We have revealed, CONFIRMING that which (was
revealed) before it, that thou mayst warn the Mother of Villages and those around her. Those
who believe in the Hereafter believe herein, and they are careful of their worship.” (Al-Anaam 6:
92).
• “When before it there was the Scripture of Moses, an example and a mercy; and this is Scripture
in the Arabic language, that it may warn those who do wrong and bring good tidings for the
righteous.” (Al-Ahqaf 46: 12)
The Qur’an stresses that it confirms the Holy Bible in Arabic, so we must conclude that the Holy Bible
has never been changed. It is the trusted Word of Allah for all human beings.
